Territorial Army Coaching
Best Coaching for Territorial Army (TA) Preparation in India
What sets the Territorial Army (TA) entry apart from other Indian Army entries is its unique flexibility. It allows individuals to pursue their primary civilian profession while simultaneously serving the nation as a commissioned officer in the Indian Army. Without having to sacrifice your full-time career, you can contribute to national defence by serving for a minimum of two months each year.
One of the most striking features of this entry is the age eligibility—candidates up to 42 years of age can apply, unlike regular entries which have a cut off around 24 years. The Ministry of Defence considers the date of birth as per Matriculation or Senior Secondary certificates. Moreover, graduates from any stream are eligible to apply for this prestigious opportunity.
The Territorial Army is classified under the “Other Arms” category of the Indian Army. It functions as a supportive and reserve force, mobilized when required. TA includes several battalions and comprises both regular soldiers and posted officers. Once selected through the TA entry, you will undergo pre-commissioning training and be attached to a parent TA unit, where you will serve in uniform alongside regular officers and troops.
As a Territorial Army Officer, you will receive the same responsibilities, privileges, and status as any regular officer of the Indian Army—making it a proud and powerful way to serve the nation without leaving your current career.
It incorporates various departments such as: IOC, Ecological Battalion, ONGC, Non Departmental units of Infantry Battalion including Home & Hearth Battalions, and Railway. With its ground headquarters in Pune, Udhampur, Prayagraj, Chandigarh, and Kolkata, TA has a count of 40,000 personnel currently.
